Peppers Seven Spirit Bay Wilderness Lodge is perched on the edge of the Arafura Sea on the Cobourg Peninsula, with access only by light aircraft; there are no roads and no traffic noise. Set in natural bush on the cliffs overlooking the azure waters of Coral Bay, this tranquil Lodge is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Arnhem Land coastal scenery.
Accommodation is in individual free-standing rooms called habitats. The spacious habitats are reached by meandering bush lined pathways. Each habitat has two queen sized beds, refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities and a private bathroom just outside the door. The bathrooms are Balinese in style – partially open to the sky but covered where it’s needed. The habitats are not air-conditioned, but are fitted with ceiling fans and walls of top to bottom louvres. Fully screened to keep out insects, these louvres let in cooling sea breezes and allow unimpeded views to the ocean or bush.
The restaurant at Seven Spirit Bay was recently voted best fine dining restaurant in the Northern Territory, an accolade to be proud of. Executive Chef Luke Smith’s unique culinary style with an emphasis on local produce is a surefire winner. The fish is fresh of course, and there’s an impressive range of divine dishes on the menu. Special dietary requests are easily taken care of. Dinner each night is an event, with care taken to vary the dishes during the course of your stay.
